War of the Thistles 2023 artwork

A poster design I made for the 2023 "War of the Thistles" skateboard comp. I went for a bit of an Atari-style video game poster when I made this. I was keen to go for a more fun angle with this artwork, the name "War of the Thistles" competition is intended to be humorous of course but with world events like the ongoing Ukraine war I was keen to avoid any actual war themes.

I also made a mockup of the cartridge artwork (it would be fun to make an actual game for this 🙂)

I remixed this old Atari TV advert featuring John Madden, I made use of some AI speech generation and replaced the whole audio track. I love the sketchy old VHS / TV quality of this, it was fun to put this together.
