Are You Red or Blue?
This work was actually done 12 years ago, but is now finally seeing the light of day.
For those of you who don't already know the story, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Double-A Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) were originally supposed to be called the New Hampshire Primaries, but at the last minute the owners had second thoughts and went in another direction.
That meant that the entire brand identity system for the Primaries, which had already been developed by Studio Simon and included marks featuring Uncle Sam, the Republican elephant and the Democrat donkey, was relegated to the cutting room floor.
Until now! Though they are still called the Fisher Cats, the team is bringing back the adversarial pair featured in this post, who will each adorn alternate caps to be worn by the players on-field this coming season.
And, with the presidential campaigns heating up here in the United States, the club is leaving it up to the fans to decide which cap the team will wear on Opening Day 2016. Vote today!:
