Talk - Real conversations at scale, enabled by ChatGPT

The seed for this project was planted back in 2015, with the launch of Headsup, an automated and personalized feature designed to drive on-site and in-app actions. Introduced on Autopilot (the predecessor of Ortto), Headsup offered a familiar live chat interface while distinguishing itself as a standalone solution that operates independently of support representatives.

Our customers used Headsup to help onboard our customers, roll out new features, and offer customers expert tips and insights – all in app and at the right time. The results were staggeringly good. Of 8,375 Headsup messages delivered from 94 of our customers, the average open rate was 89 percent and average click-through rate was 41 percent. 

In early 2022 we rebranded and launched our new platform, Ortto. A unified customer journey platform for online business. With a strong emphasis on data accessibility and eliminating barriers.

While Ortto provided powerful features such as segmentation based on demographic and event-based data, timely messaging across multiple channels, and comprehensive result tracking, there was one crucial piece missing: two-way communication. The ability to engage in meaningful conversations with customers was essential to closing the loop and ensuring a truly interactive and personalized experience.

Recognizing this missing piece, we understood the need to bridge the gap and introduce a solution that would enable businesses to not only send targeted messages but also foster ongoing dialogue with their customers. This led to the development of Talk, our AI-powered live chat tool, which seamlessly integrates with Ortto's existing features to provide businesses with the ability to engage in real conversations at scale.

Morgan and I worked together on this project. We conducted user research, designed the product, and built the landing pages using Framer. Thanks to our amazing dev team, we managed to bring our concept to reality, all within a mere 8 months.
