Double dropdown dashboard nav

Some dashboard design fun, trying to find an intuitive 2 level navigation pattern that limits the amounts of contexts (aka sidebars).

I'm trying to make the double dropdown work for all scenarios without doing anything too complex. The empty states and backward navigation seems usable to me as it mimics the finder/url structure.

I'm combining patterns from by Vercel, Supabase, Gitpod for the UI connoisseurs.
