The Artemiad
Cyanotype, bookbinding, publishing & book design
The Artemiad is a poetry book by Nuno Ferreira.
The Artemiad is the result of the turmoil caused by a seemingly impossible love story. Two people who met by chance, fell in love and are now separated by an ocean but still connected by their love.
Love is what makes the world go around!
A cyanotype cover with an image of his lover, a candid photo turned into a book cover. 12 poems laid into a very minimalist and simple book layout where each poem spreads across two pages, side by side. A typewriter typeface was requested by the author.
This was initially a one off book and is now going to be replicated, due to popular demand. The first 8 copies will have real cyanotype covers and all the books produced after that will most likely have the cover printed.
A few of the experiments done with the cover image, I had a small hiccup with the first digital negative but all got sorted in the end.
This was a very time-constrained project as it was meant to be a birthday present and it still had to cross the ocean all was well in the end and it arrived on her birthday!
The cyanotype prints that are note being used as covers will be turned into bookmarks.
