Re-Branding | Saint John’s School

Saint John’s School is a non-profit, college preparatory, nonsectarian, coeducational day school founded in 1915. The school, located in a residential area of Condado, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has an enrollment of over 800 students from pre pre-kinder to grade twelve. Instruction is mostly in English with the exception of language courses.

In 2018 as a graphic designer, I had the privilege of working with the agency Gravital, formerly known as Vuelo 6, to undertake a comprehensive brand identity redesign for Saint John's School in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This project involved the creation of a new official seal for the school, inspired by the emblems of the most prestigious universities worldwide. Each element of the seal was carefully designed to reflect the school's rich cultural heritage and commitment to academic excellence in a way that is elegant, sophisticated, minimal, yet highly recognizable.

In addition to creating the seal, I took on the responsibility of developing the school's complete brand manual. This effort ensured that every facet of Saint John's School's visual identity was presented coherently and professionally, enhancing its presence in the educational sector. The work extended further to include the creation of all collateral designs and stationery materials.

This brand transformation project for Saint John's School underscores the importance of design in effectively conveying an organization's history and values. My collaboration with Saint John's School and Gravital resulted in an invaluable experience, demonstrating how design can be a powerful tool to strengthen an institution's identity and extend the reach of a top-tier educational institution.
