Graffiti A-Z, Type Poster

Graffiti A-Z, Type Poster. From my typography class. For this project, I was tasked with creating an entire type A-Z. I could do whatever I wanted. I just had to choose a medium, and what the theme of the letters would be. I went with graffiti letters, because I like graffiti art. The medium I went with was Adobe Illustrator, my preferred Adobe software. From Week 2 to Week 13, I would work on 4-5 letters at a time, until I eventually created all 26. I created all my letters the same, with the pen tool over my sketches. They all have gradients and highlights/shadows, and shine marks. Some have strokes and some don't. Each of the letters follow an opposing lighting, see if you notice the pattern in the poster. From the light direction, the letters have their shadows casted from it.

My final step was to take all my individual letters into Photoshop, make any final touches to them, add in backgrounds, and convert them into TIFFs. Next, after I got my professor's approval, I created a 24x24 document in InDesign with 25 4x4in boxes upon which, I placed all my letters in.

Below is all my letters.
