The inspiration behind this? Bridging the gap for students facing job fair and employment hunt challenges. 💼✨ The fun challenge? Implementing new skills and concepts learned for an engaging user experience and design.

The Purpose Of The Project

Challenge accepted! 💡 The project kicked off with a brainstorming session, aiming to create a business idea with a societal impact. As a team, we shared our experiences of feeling lost during job searches and fair events.

Acknowledging the problem, the idea became clear: create a service acting as a coach to help young individuals prepare for interviews and match them with fitting fair events. 🌟

What is IceLinked App for?

As the designer and creator of the prototype, I explored various concepts and ideas that could be useful. Market research was instrumental, leading to the creation of the wireframe structure.

The app serves as an extra tool for the user, guiding them with different interfaces to improve soft skills and confidence. It provides a wealth of resources, including articles, insights from businesses, and personal experiences from those who've walked in their shoes.

We aimed to innovate by incorporating a match-making tool focused on events and conferences useful to students. The "User Hub" screen allows easy access to track skill progression and upcoming events. 📈🎓

Why design an app?

Why a service supported by an app, you may ask? Because we wanted to make learning and skill-building fun and accessible. With IceLinked, everything the user needs is in the palm of their hands—personalized coaching, a treasure trove of resources, and a user-friendly interface that feels like a breeze. We wanted it to act as a companion evolving with them through their career journey.

The Message & Branding Behind IceLinked

Seeing a cat in a logo, and a project name called IceLinked might be unusual, but it all has a meaning. The name comes from the "icebreaker" confidence needed to approach the professionals in the sector, which can be imposing at first. "Linked" is due to connecting the user/client to the conferences and businesses.

The cat emerges from an anecdote that occurred in class, and our teacher shared a metaphor comparing us to a scared cat, as we were afraid to take the risk and actually involved deep in the project. So we decided to give a twist and embrace it as a message to show the users that we can help gain the confidence and skills needed to succeed. 🐾💪
