Pet Pulse- A Pet Emergency App
Project Type
This was a group project of four people done in my last year of design college. The research, synthesis, and ideation were done by all four of us as because of the course timeline we had stop there. The final phase was carried out by me solely as I was interested in taking this project further. It consisted of user flows, information architecture, low-fidelity mockups, and the final design.
Desk Research
The population of pet animals is huge which is approximately 60% of the Indians have pets and the majority are dogs and cats. Pets play a very important role in their lives. Through our secondary research, it was found that the medical infrastructure in India is not adequate to manage the health of pets. Especially if we talk about emergency situations even that is worse.
It was also found over the year the percentage of pet animals have increased a lot but the government has not increased the funds to balance the demand and supply keeping the life of pet animals at risk in case of emergency.
Primary Research
We mostly conducted our field study in Bhopal and to some extent understood the situation in Pune via calls and online interviews.
Commonalities in Case Studies
In each of the three case studies, two things were common.
Lack of emergency facilities near them or proper management systems at the facility.
Awareness by the pet owners to manage the emergency till the time they reach the emergency care.
The user flow diagram and the information architecture are structured and designed in a manner keeping in mind the stress, tension and havoc state of the pet owners.
