Design and Development

I chose Figma as my design tool and created both dark and light modes for the homepage. The development phase was executed using Wix, primarily in dark mode.

Wix offered a seamless experience due to its user-friendly interface and favorable default settings for SEO, while also delivering a commendable Web Core Vitals (WCV) score for optimal user experience.

Design Evaluation

The following are key considerations for the design and potential areas for improvement:

Figma Design

the inclusion of dark and light modes ensures accessibility, but a focus on visual consistency and branding alignment could be enhanced.

Wix Development

Wix’s user-friendly interface and SEO-friendly defaults are advantageous, but the limitations in implementing accordions might warrant exploring more versatile web builders for complex interactions.

Shop and ReCAPTCHA

the integration of e-commerce elements and security measures is commendable for expanding the website’s functionality.

Featured Work Section

the “tab” design is a positive change, enhancing user navigation. However, further refinement of visual hierarchy and user experience can optimize its effectiveness.

Conclusion

This case study illustrates the challenges and successes encountered during the design and development of my portfolio website. It highlights the adaptability of Wix for user-friendly web development and emphasizes the importance of balancing design aesthetics with functional considerations for an improved user experience.

P.S: The dark and white mode templates are available in my website (full access of the file in Figma).
