The Bates Motel Stationery

I've been on a 15 day self-imposed quest to make graphic props for the movie "Psycho". File this one under “details no one will ever see on camera”. After Norman Bates checks Marion into her room, he makes a joke that there’s stationery with “Bates Motel” printed on it in case she wants to make her friend back home envious.Process: Fairvale, CA is a fictional town in Central California.

When thinking about making 1960 stamps, I researched popular central CA stamps at that time and found ones celebrating The Pony Express. As a nod to the time period, you’ll see a bucking cowboy on these custom stamps.
