Saigon apartment - motion 3D illustration

This collage and animation piece is inspired by Nguyen Thai Binh apartment in District 1, Saigon. The studio where I used to worked is located inside this apartment. Every morning I would walk past fruit vendors, buy coffee from a small street vendor or see middle school students on their way to school.

I’ve always wondered what it is like to mix 3D with other mediums to make them appear softer (idk I feel like 3d as a medium — its so easy to  make them appear detached to viewers somehow, unlike collage, watercolor or pencil sketches). I'm trying to experiment how to mix 3D with other mediums to convey more emotions, or adding more depth and feelings to the piece in general…

Mixing 3D with newspaper texture? Photos? Acrylics? Make them into pieces of collage? What happens when i do that? Will i be brave enough to explore that area even if it means failing or my work comes out badly?

I thought collage would be a suitable medium for this piece because it portrays the worn out layer of paint or faded posters on the walls inside this old apartment complex.
