Improved UI for bookings against a Job.

Helping users to add and edit booking details. The initial problem was that legacy function was in separate forms on pages which meant the user unnecessarily had to leave the page they were on to quickly add a new booking or edit a current booking.

This was part of a larger product change initiative. Where we improved the users ability to make bookings or site visits quickly without having to leave their main workspace. Utilising a new design system, we built a booking modal window based off a universal component and added easier text fields and pickers to move through the form. The real technical benefit we added was a dynamic search field and picker for assigning staff members to the booking. This was completed with ‘availability identifiers’ combined into the staff chip so the user could quickly see who was really available to do the booking. See ux case study here
