Art deco football posters

Series of illustrated posters commissioned by Maison Transversale for 2023 Champions League games of RC Lens football club

Lens city, in the North of France, is famous for its art deco architecture. So I went for an art deco frame design. Which also reinforces the prestige of the playing in Champions League.​​​​​​​

I used mainly red, gold, beige and black, which are the colors of RC Lens.Enter your text here...

Lens is also famous for its mining history which is very connected to the football club. I chose symbols of the city and the club as the central focus: a mining lamp and cask and a supporters' flag.

The background ​​​​​​​illustrations are composed of Lens Bollaert-Delelis stadium and elements from Lens city architecture.

Haut les coeurs

The mining lamp in the left golden frame refers to RC Lens club.

The gun on the right refers to Arsenal gunners.

The woman at the top is Sainte Barbe, the holy patrons of miners.

In the top frame, pickaxes are symbols of Lens mining culture.

The crown in the right frame represents Sevilla FC by referring to the city's holy saints.
