RAIE HORROR GAME UI CONCEPT

Concept for main menu and inventory screen of horror game RAIE.

UX

This game draws inspiration from PS1 aesthetics, specifically titles like Silent Hill and Resident Evil, albeit with a first-person perspective. It leans more towards being an adventure/quest game rather than a survival horror.

During gameplay, the game will pause when the inventory or other menus are open. However, the left side of the screen will remain constant. This design choice ensures that players always have a view of what's in front of them, which is crucial for situations where they need specific objects for puzzles or need to adjust video settings. It also displays the current quest and collectible status for the episode, helping players stay engaged and informed.

Additionally, I've implemented a feature where players can access the last diary entry. In today's fast-paced world, it can be challenging to devote extended periods to gaming. This feature allows players to quickly refresh their memory regarding the story and objectives, making it convenient for those returning to the game after a long break or during short gaming sessions.
