Little about this project

Although the main inspiration at the beginning of this design were grunge posters and xerox art, results couldn't fit into either of those categories. Since I have been My Chemical Romance fan for many years, my interpretation of their music was most influential factor while designing this.

This poster is folded to fit into the CD case, doubling as a front art and short form of a booklet. When opening CD case on you will be greeted with upper left part of this poster that contains lyrics from song ''Welcome to the black parade''.

Back side of CD case

''The Black Parade'' is a concept album telling a story about patient who is guided to The Black Parade or afterlife by unknown character. I wanted to show that story in this design, so on front of case is that unknown character.

''Welcome to the black parade'' on CD is reference to song on the album but also a welcome to the patient as well as to us, listeners, as we are about to hear ''The Black Parade'' / patients story.

As we listen to this album we hear story of the patient and as we come to an end on back of CD case alongside titles of songs is patient joining and leaving with the parade as he has accepted that it is his time to go.
