Food Truck Case Study

A dedicated mobile app designed to replicate AOK's authentic Oaxacan cuisine experience, prioritizing food quality over menu diversity while also offering features for pre-orders and improved customer communication.

Problem

Many individuals find themselves unable or unwilling to prepare their meals due to a busy schedule or a lack of interest in cooking. To cater to these diverse needs, it's crucial to establish a seamless and stress-free process for ordering food quickly.

Solution

To develop an app that seamlessly marries user-friendly design with aesthetic appeal, fostering stronger connections between AOK's customers and staff. Users should be able to effortlessly select their food choices and efficiently place pickup orders, ultimately driving increased sales and customer retention for the business.

Visual Language

As AOK boasts a vibrant character, I opted for a clean and straightforward interface to ensure it doesn't divert users from their main tasks. To retain the food truck's identity, I incorporated their brand color into the call-to-action buttons and introduced design elements reminiscent of the truck.

Takeaway

Throughout this project, I learned that our designs would constantly change and that I shouldn’t be too attached to our initial ideas. What we thought would work ends up being scrapped, and it’s okay. In addition, the feedback we receive from usability studies is extremely valuable because it optimizes our app’s design and allows us to see what we haven’t considered before.
