NETFLIX (Welcome Page Case Study)

This is Simple Case Study of Netflix's Welcome page From a UI/UX designer Perspective.

Introduction

Netflix is a revolutionary streaming platform that changed the way we consume entertainment.

This is a simple case study from the perspective of a UI/UX designer of Netflix’s Welcome Page. In this case study I kind of analysis how Netflix strategically built its website.

Netflix User Research

According to an article top countries where Netflix penetrates most are Australia, the UK, the U.S., Canada, Spain, Germany, etc.

There are currently 692 million viewers worldwide. Similar web shows that Netflix has 54% male visitors and 45% female visitors. And most age groups are 25 - 34 and then 18 - 24.

Information Architecture

We can separate the Netflix website into 5 segments. First is the main Content in the middle of the page. 2nd the header. 3rd the Features section where Netflix describes its features with animations. Though there are more 2 segments one is the FAQ and the other is Footer.

Maintaining Visual hierarchy, Netflix shows users first what is Netflix all about “Watch Big Movies And Shows at low Prices”. Just below the Title If you are convinced you can get started from here.

In the Header section, Netflix Keeps it simple and clean. There is just a red logo and navigation bar with two buttons “language and sign in”. Where the sign-in gets more focused.

3rd section, We can call it the Features section. If you want to learn more about Netflix, you scroll through a feature section, Netflix describes all its features with video animations that look aesthetic.

In the end, everything is simple and clean with some aesthetics.

Visual Design

Netflix's main colors are red and black, Obviously, this is not a coincidence. Red represents hot, Strong love, Passion, and Violence. As a movie-streaming platform red goes so well with the theme.

In typography, Netflix’s Title is 48px and the paragraph is 20px.

In the background, Netflix uses photos of top current shows.

Userflow And Interaction

On the welcome page of Netflix, There are just 4 Interactions 1. Language Selection, 2. Sign-In button, 3. Get Started button, and expand FAQ answers on click.

Conclusion

Netflix offers compelling visual experiences and an extensive library of content. This case study shows the importance of user-centric design, and how Netflix guides through their page an user what to click next.

Everything is to the point, and easy to navigate.
