Book Cover Design

The Great Gatsby, the Third novel by American author F. Scott Fitzgerald, was published in 1925. Set in Jazz Age New York, it tells the tragic story of Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire, and his pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman he loved in his youth.

This book cover design is inspired by the mysterious life lived by Jay Gatsby in the book and I tried to infuse more of a luxurious feel into the cover.

I used a sans serif typeface for my typography but wanted it more stylish and decorated. So I chose “Blakely” for my cover design which came out great in my own opinion.

I made all illustrative motifs and key design styles, for the motif I wanted something that could be repeated but won’t be tiring to look at, so I made lines as a repeated design on the cover

Through this cover design, I hope to capture the eyes of anybody who will see the design and draw readers to the elegant and luxurious life of Jay Gatsby.
