Overview: A fun and engaging app that helps users learn new words each day

Objective: Creating an app that is engaging, interactive, and useful in helping users to learn new vocabulary in quick sessions that fit into their everyday lives

USER RESEARCH & PERSONAS

I interviewed people who had expressed an interest in increasing their vocabulary aptitude. Some had previously attempted to learn through various methods in the past, but never fully committed to the process. I developed an interview script to help me focus on discovering the needs and behaviors of these participants.

MAIN INSIGHTS

-Participants mainly wanted to build their vocabulary skills to help them communicate better with coworkers and peers

-Majority said they were mainly visual learners

-Many pointed out that learning a new word is easy, but bringing it naturally into your everyday conversations is far more challenging

-Nearly every participant said they needed something that would easily fit into their already busy lifestyles

-Many engage in learning better when they are entertained

I then created a User Persona based on these findings:
