Enhancing navigation for better user experience
In 2022, Infermedica launched a website redesign, which included the implementation of a new megamenu navigation. However, after several months of testing, it became apparent that the overall usability did not meet our expectations – at times, our navigation system failed to effectively guide users to their intended destinations.
Therefore, we have made the decision to introduce a new design system that places a greater emphasis on a clear information hierarchy rather than visual appeal. The goal is to enhance the user experience and ensure that our website is more intuitive and efficient for all users.
Introducing a new menu design system
Creating the new menu we prioritized implying the importance of each section based on its volume, rather than balancing volumes between sections. As part of this strategy, we replaced the megamenu navigation with a flyout navigation approach.
Our new design system includes two menu item types that signify item importance: "highlighted" items with icons and descriptions, and "basic" items with just titles, placed on a darker background.
