and eco-friendly manner.

☕ Context

The non-profit association, e-covoiturage.ch aims to provide practical assistance to individuals, companies and local authorities in rationalising transportation. The e-covoiturage.ch platform connects both drivers and passengers for local and short trips through a secure online database. Carpooling is the ideal solution to alleviate parking issues, lower transportation costs, promote social interaction, and reduce urban congestion.

🎯 Objectives

Redesign the existing and ageing mobile application into a Progressive Web App to make it easier to use without having to update the application. Enable the platform customization for companies and local authorities to reflect the concerned entity brand identity.

🚀 Challenges

• Provide access to practical smartphone features (call, contacts, camera).

• Ensure compatibility across Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Explorer browsers.

• Make the interface customisable for companies and local authorities.

• Simplify the process of finding routes and parking spots.

• Enable the creation of route and parking spots announcements.

• Enhance the main navigation structure.

• Improve the display of route announcements by providing three views: overview (list + map), list and map.

• Enable geolocation and visualization of available routes on the map.

• Receive alerts about route changes via SMS or email.

• Modernize the interface and enhance the user experience.

🕹️ Methodology

• Identification of client needs, pain points, and areas for improvement through a study and an exchange phase with the client.

• Prototype: mobile and web mockups, and design iterations.

More than 400 municipalities have registered on e-covoiturage.ch
 to offer an eco-friendly transportation solution to their residents.
