Indian baby Shower or Seemantham is a traditional South Indian ritual that celebrates pregnant women and their developing foetus. This is usually celebrated during their fifth, seventh, or ninth month of pregnancy. The pregnant woman sits on a chair while her family and relatives apply sandhanam and kumkumam to her forehead. And they will bless her by placing the glass bangles on her hand. Later, she is offered seven different types of rice and is showered with fruits and sweets. Seemantham is also thought of as a means to ask for blessings for a healthy child and a safe birth. Overall, Seemantham is seen as an important aspects of Hindu history and culture and is a celebration of the beginning of a new life.
