Family Illustration: Karaoke at the Farm

I did this illustration because of a prompt from an organization I follow. It was about music and I took it as a chance to draw a scene from our family gathering where we gathered around the camp fire while singing.

This was particularly inspired from studio Ghibli's two movies, The Tale of Princess Kaguya and My Neighbors the Yamadas, which both feature a watercolor aesthetic. I don't usually work with this medium but there is a charm about watercolor and its imperfections and impreciseness! I love it!
