Brand Identity Design for Kainene

I was hired to create the brand identity for Kainene.

Kainene is focused on promoting African fashion and art and seeks to tell Africa's stories using fashion and art. 

The goal of this project was to create a logo that was African and also evocative of style.

This goal was accomplished by incorporating certain elements into the logo design.

The main icon is comprised of a pencil(representing the design aspect of the business), needle and thread(representing the production aspect of the business). The overall form of the icon was created to look like a zipper puller., which can become a way to physically incorporate the logo into the company's fashion products. The typeface used in the logo is an original custom font created to communicate Africa and Style.
