We are in the process of revolutionizing how students find and track their service hours with a brand new app.
Our goals:
Improve ease of finding good service opportunities in the students' local community
Alleviate the pain of tracking and approving service hours for both students and supervisors
Reduce hours spent by staff approving and managing service opportunities and organizations
3 Apps in one, student/supervisor/admin
Our task includes not only the student-facing design, but also how external supervisors manage their opportunities and volunteers and administrators who manage organizations and supervisors. In order to account for these we spent time:
Interviewing admin and staff to identify current pain points and issues keeping them from achieving their top tasks
Surveying and interviewing current students to identify top tasks and pain points
Determining success metrics for each problem to measure the success of implementation
