Ubuntu touch UI conceptual redesign

Hi Dribbblers!

Recently, I chanced upon the UB Ports - the community keeping the Ubuntu touch project alive despite being discontinued by Canonical.

The UI is really beautiful, but some of its interface are not as good of a user experience compared to other mobile OSes.

What did I do?

I took inspiration from other OSes and redesigned the Ubuntu touch UI, while retaining Ubuntu's signature and modernised look.

Changelog:

  • Notifications Bar

    • Make notifications bar transparent

    • Reduced size of notifications bar icons

  • Lock Screen

    • Circle has a triangle as pointer

    • Added app* shortcuts on lockscreen

  • Launcher

    • Changed to new ubuntu icon

    • Light themed launcher bar

    • Time displayed is bigger when launcher opens

    • Pinned apps* are displayed from the top to the bottom

  • Recents

    • Removed text describing apps*

    • Added 'Clear Scopes' button

    • Rounded corners of screenshots of apps*

  • Notifications

    • Made connectivity toggles at the front by default

    • For more settings, pull down the notification shade once more

    • Added brightness slider, with neumorphic design

    • Added settings button

    • Added large clock and date display at the top of notifications

    • Changed notifications to display at the bottom by default for reachability, where notifications are displayed from can be configured in settings

    • Added 'Clear Notifications' button

*Are apps called scopes in ubuntu touch?
