Guitar Design System
A fascination with theory
My friend Zeb recieved guitar lessons for his birthday. He asked me if I was interested in taking lessons with him. He quit after one session, but I continued on for the next six years practicing and studying music theory on both guitar and piano.
Fascinated by the underlying structures in music, I used design to organize my thoughts and the music theory I learned. I created illustrated diagrams, Flash based animations that served as flash cards for learning chords and transitioning from one chord to another.
The experience spawned a deep appreciation of Jazz and improvisation that I was able to carry through the many other creative outlets I was exploring at the time, and those after.
