Lumen - Navigational Menu

It's typically considered bad practice to hide your navigation in hidden menus but in my project, Lumen, the main purpose and function of the app is to view beautiful fullscreen albums, so I thought that bringing the forward would disrupt the main focus too much.

What I did was add a small hamburger menu icon to the top left of the screen along the edge to make it look like it was hanging off of the screen. This gives the user the feeling that they need to pull it to open the menu. When they do, the album slides over revealing the menu. The photographer's information and the album title fade out slightly to not distract from the menu items.

You can see a video of this and the rest of the project on my website.
