Gezi And White Turks

The cover focuses on the gezi park protests of 2013. The molotov cocktail is combined with an ascot as a symbol of the resistance of the white turks (urban elites) with a twist of the scarf pattern.

I'm also trying to use the desaturated green colour associated with the movement in conjunction with the helvetica font which is now one of the most neutral typefaces with a little to no characteristics attached to it.

Finally, the placement of the word "White" is carefully chosen to sit hidden behind the molotov cocktail. The text appears sharper at distance and the blur effect gets more apparent as the distance to the bookshelf decreases.
