Ship in a bottle

I dedicated numerous hours of work to designing an isometric ship in a bottle, and it took me a considerable amount of time to make progress since I started working on it on November 7th, 2022, using only Adobe Illustrator and Wacom tablet.

I adopted two distinct styles: isometric angles and engraving/etching. While the original concept involved designing a ship in an isometric angle with an engraving style, the feedback from my best friend helped me quite to approach the desired outcome.

The amount of time I devoted to this project is hard to recall, as I lost track after working on it continuously for several days.

During this endeavor, I acquired the skills to draw curved lines, ocean waves, and etching and engraving lines, all within isometric angles. These techniques allowed me to create the perfect lighting and shadowing effects on the bottle while establishing a striking contrast between the two colors.

My inspiration came from the rich history and tradition of ship-in-a-bottle designs. Additionally, I was motivated by the challenge of designing something intricate and complex, as well as the desire to experiment with various styles and techniques.

Throughout the process, I had to maintain patience and focus, demanding precision, attentiveness, and a keen eye for detail. I made numerous attempts until I finally succeeded in creating a beautiful and intricate icon that fills me with pride.
