This redesign combines the primary aspect of Netflix, which is the streaming of movies, with the foundation of IMDB, which encompasses information about all things related to cinema, particularly commentary.

Design Journey Summary

Based on a simple questionnaire with the main part "What can cause you to enjoy an entertainment like a movie/series?", I found out that a lot of people prefer to have information, whether a summary or a list of people involved in making it. The other realization for me was that the members of movie clubs like to share their ideas even during the movie and have access to the whole list of movies/series they want to watch together.

The answer to the need for information was simple: combine IMDB with Netflix! IMDB website includes EVERYTHING about entertainment, from actors to rates and reviews. So, why not add these parts and give the users an option to access more information anytime they want?! The other part of the design was to make the search easier for the user. which I thought about organising every entertainment based on their genre. For instance, if you like to watch a romance movie from the 60's best ones you can search for romance category and there find your movie based on years categorisation!

During a survey, I acknowledged that movie clubs are mostly private and include friends and families. This is why I personalize movie clubs and attach them to user accounts. The club will be recommended to other users based on their search history. But they will need permission to join the club.

Another part of the design which I love a lot is the ability to search for actors, directors, etc, and have access to their other works and a brief biography about them. For example, let's say I enjoyed a movie directed by Mr Martin Scorsese and now would like to add his other works to my watching list. You won't need to open another browser to search for him. I just have to search his name in the search bar and I will have access to all his works and I can add any of his movies I want to my watch list with just one click!
