Manifesto Zine

I took an art zines class during my second to last college semester. The class required us to complete four zines, with one project centered on creating a personal manifesto.

I used Adobe InDesign to create this project, as it helps visualize spreads and bleed marks, which I needed to take into consideration for printing. I illustrated each of the images in Procreate. The text was also personal, as it drew from ideas and quotes from my private journals.

As I used language that was very personal to me for this project, I also wanted to create my own images to use within this zine. I am fond of tarot imagery, and read tarot cards for myself. It is another form of journaling and self-reflection, so it fits well with the theme of this zine.

The zine plays with the idea of chaos and chaotic thinking. Taking simple images and making them jittery and scattered emphasized that message. I used the glitch effect in Procreate for this idea.
