Socrates' Children (Bookset)

Introducing the Socrates’ Children Bookset.I have been following the ministry of Bishop Barron and Word on Fire for years, so it was a great honor to be able to participate in this lighthouse project last year. In addition, this is a significant work by Peter Kreeft, one of the most influential philosophers of the last century.

For "Socrates' Children: An Introduction to Philosophy from the 100 Greatest Philosophers" I had the privilege of designing 100 engraving (philosopher) portraits, 4 book covers, 2 full-page woodcut illustrations and a bookcase. The scope of the project made it one of the most extensive projects I have ever been involved in.

Fonts I used for the covers and bookcase are: Schmaltzy by Herzberg Design Co., Sandleford Regular by Beasts of England and the alltime classic typeface Albertus by Berthold Wolpe. Art direction was done by the great Rozann Lee and beautiful Product Photography by Chris Moyer.
