The Caary is a digital corporate card allowing users to track their expenses, which means centralized control and more visibility. It is an expense management and spending management platform.

This project aimed to strategize, research and design an end-to-end experience to help their B2B and B2C consumers, focusing on raising over $3 million in the first phase of MVP.

Research

  • At first, We really lacked an understanding of what customers really wanted, needed and expected from us.

  • My process begins with identifying stakeholders and collecting requirements to ensure that the product meets the needs of its users.

  • Initiative and approach include; Collaboration, design thinking, card sorting exercise, and design/feature benchmarking.

Planning & Structure (IA)

Once I got all the primary research done and had all this data, we were pretty overwhelmed. We need to start prioritizing and strategizing the actual experience we're going to design as a team.

Ideation and Wireframes

Our focus was to create a seamless financial services experience that simple to use for everyone. I created multiple options during the brainstorming session and seek out different solutions which works.

Visual Language (UI)

Since day one, I have been focusing on building B2B for desktop and B2C for mobile applications. I pretty much jumped straight into design because we were on a very tight deadline, so we built a design style guide as a priority.

Deep dive into the Initial UI

Once our overall design language was approved, I quickly scaled out all design screens. User-centric design approach helps us to create a highly accessible MVP.

Evaluate the outcome

I requested the latest build from the development team to verify if the product was developed according to the proposed design. Additionally, I conducted user testing sessions to assess the effectiveness of the experience that I designed and identify areas for improvement.

Outcomes

Our project was launched successfully, and our engagement led to CAARY surpassing its target and raising $4.1 million in a late-seed first equity round through MVP. This exceeded their initial expectations significantly.
