The Holy Dagger is an NFT project that started with a commission from The Glamour, a luxurious branch of Sobati Customs company. The idea was to create an NFT animation with a physical sculpture attached to it. The concept behind the project was to showcase the struggle of humankind to survive, which has been a constant throughout history.

The Holy Dagger became a metaphor for the objects that we sanctify based on our relationship with them. The Dagger, covered in Swarovski gems, represented a symbol of survival and became a valuable thing after thousands of years of hunting.

CONCEPT

The animation portrays a character looking at the ruins of her once-called home, reflecting on the story of survival. The Holy Dagger, a heritage for the posterity, represents the abstract concepts incarnated into a tangible object that has become a symbol of survival. The animation showcases the struggle of humankind to survive and how objects that were once used for hunting have now become a valuable part of our culture.

PROCESS

The project started with small notes and sketches, which were refined until the final result was satisfactory. Hard surface objects like the Dagger, Grasses, and the first model of the Cliff were modeled using Blender. The character and the rest of the scene were modeled using ZBrush. Shading, lighting, and rendering were done using KeyShot, as it was thought that it would provide a more realistic result on the Dagger, which was full of Swarovski gems.

Finally, the renders were finalized with visual effects such as the pictures in the crystal cube and transitions. The effects were applied using Adobe After Effects and edited in Premiere Pro. The music was composed by the creator during the editing process.
