Material thinking: Cobalt

This project is part from my material thinking research. It was a tough subject but I was eager to continue with it. My material was broken phones and I focused more on cobalt and the exploitation and labour behind extracting it. The research is based on the book “Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives “ by Siddharth Kara. @siddharth.kara——“Cobalt can be found in every battery. All cobalt sources from the Democratic Republic of Congo are tainted by various degrees of abuse, including slavery, child labour, human trafficking , hazardous and toxic working conditions, pathetic wages, injury and death.”
