About: Assa Abloy AB is a Swedish conglomerate whose offerings include products and services related to locks, doors, gates, and entrance automation. It all started in 1881, when August Stenman started making locks and built a world-famous brand around their award-winning products; his wife up with the name, based on his initials: ASSA. Assa Abloy was founded at the merger in 1994 of two companies: Assa and the Finnish Abloy (famous for inventing the disc tumbler lock in 1918).
