Product Vision

The Developer Knowledge team builds the Connect portal and maintains the content with help from the community. Connect is a community-based product.

Value proposition: Maximizes re-use of assets, enables seamless collaboration, drives standardization, promotes knowledge-sharing community through gamification, and delivers insights through dashboards and reporting.

Problem statement: The initial release of the Connect portal was based on an older design system and many sections need to be updated to match Motif guidelines and structure. This includes not only a style update but also a layout adjustment.

Based on the insights not only a new taxonomy was defined but also an understanding of the importance of each of the sections.

Key findings

70% of participants divided the content into 5 high-level content categories:

  • My Profile: setup, activity, and content

    interests

  • Onboarding: first steps and general onboarding documentation

  • EY Standards & Best Practices: general best practices and role/project specific

  • Content feed / Home: access to general content that may or may not be of their interest

  • Community: discover and connect with people

For 80% of participants, the top content category from the ones created by themselves was ‘EY Standards & Best Practices'
