The Ryte Design

This was one of the multiple header graphics, created for the first version of Ryte Design System in 2018. My task was to make the freshly build design system accessible for the whole company. Our shared component library was very technical and we needed something more visual. Another important requirement was easy editing for multiple editors. So i decided building a Wordpress site. It ended up in the format of modern Storybook, including components, their description and most important CSS code examples. Of course the problem was, I had to update both design system in Sketch and the online version of it in Wordpress, so it was a temporary solution. But it greatly contributed to the consistency of the new features on the platform, web design of the marketing website and branding awareness within the company.

Design System itself was built in a combined effort with the whole UX team. But it needed to be accepted by Development team as well. To make the first steps easier, I offered my help updating shared components written in react.

After about a year, the Storybook, wich was more suitable for agile purposes, took over, and The Ryte Design was shut down. But until now, that was the most complete design system the company had, including branded illustrations, design language, typography and thoughtful descriptions for all the components, written by my UX-writing talented colleague.
