After some experimentation we landed on this style and colours with the client, with minimal gradients and illustrative strokes. They have a main character - the astronaut and I designed a small x character who helps out.

As a service they help out smaller companies to scale up their online presence. Thus there is a small flag and a new bigger expanded flag gets planted by the astronaut.
