The August Wilson Monologue Competition is a celebration of the words of the playwright August Wilson, inspiring high school students to find and express themselves through theatre. Jazz and blues are common themes in Wilson’s works. The goal of this rebrand is to capture the cadence and rhythm that is seen in the lyrical nature of his dialogue.
