Laos Branding Project

The goal of this project was to successfully create a national brand for the country of Laos that could be applied to many different situations. 

Great research was put into the colors of this brand, which mimic the natural beauty of the country. The colors of the Buddhist robes were 

used in this design because of the significant cultural impact Buddhism has had on the country. The Laotian script’s sweeping curves 

inspired the mark which reads “Laos” in the native language. While designing the logo, I realized that the last letter of the word “Laos” 

in Laotian resembles an elephant, which is spiritually significant in the Buddhist religion. All of these components together result in a brand 

that is culturally appropriate while maintaining strong design principles.
