Google Icons - Animated Versions | Case study
I'm a big fan of the way Google designs their products, and I get a kick out of bringing static designs to life.
That's what inspired me to start this fun personal project. I picked out 6 apps and set myself the challenge of animating each one in a unique style that captures its main purpose and usefulness.

Google Chat
Goal:
Emphasize the diverse range of ways that users can engage with one another on Google Chat, while also incorporating a sense of emotion into the visual design.
Google Classroom
Goal:
Highlight the distinctive real-time feature that sets Google Classroom apart from other similar services. By using a chalk pen as the key element in the animation, I sought to demonstrate how straightforward and user-friendly the platform can be to utilize.
Google Maps
Goal:
Showcase the primary function of Google Maps, which is providing seamless navigation and helping users find their way to their desired destination, and rather than boxing the animation in the story, I chose to utilize negative space to convey the message in a more visually engaging way.
Google Fit
Goal:
Showcase the primary function of Google Maps, which is providing seamless navigation and helping users find their way to their desired destination, and rather than boxing the animation in the story, I chose to utilize negative space to convey the message in a more visually engaging way.
Google News
Goal:
My intention here was to demonstrate that this platform consolidates news from various sources in one location. People who are not familiar with it might mistake it for an app that only features articles, similar to Medium.
Google Calendar
Goal:
Instead of employing the customary calendar animation that tallies the days, I chose to take a distinct approach to the transition. More precisely, I utilized the "Create" plus button within the application to highlight the app's capability to create various types of events, each with their own color code, all within a single platform.
Thanks for watching!
