I Am Falling For You : An Illustrative series

In this series of illustrations, I wanted to portray the act and course of falling in love, and visualise the thoughts that arise right before one realises they are embraced by romance and the breath taking moment that sweeps one off their feet when they finally do realise that they have the one thing many dream of, true love. Likening to the song "tattooed heart", the illustration style imitates that of tattoos and the main motif is a heart. This is due to my belief that as we go about life we will inevitably collect scars on our hearts but love beautifies these wretched lines and welds it together, breathing new life and purpose into the broken places, creating a new piece of art. Through this series, the heart takes on different personifications (a bubble, a stained glass window, and a fire starter) goes through different perspectives pieced together by romance. As they put their accompanying text into visual form, the illustrations make visible the emotions many have felt before.
