GLYPH-REAPER-ALPHA

They say the eye is the gateway to the soul. To view an eye is to understand. A gaze is a connection. That the portal leads directly to emotion and thought. Eye contact is simultaneously erotic and confrontational. Eyes can observe and neglect with their very direction. The soul is formless. But these vessels of isolation found each other and yearned to be recognisably ‘human’. They don’t naturally have eyes. Tears stream from orifices carved via self-infliction to mimic our own eyes. They wanted to fit in, as did I. But fitting in is painful. These black-cloaked beings are the collateral children of rejection. Shunned. Overshadowed. Cast-out. They seek to belong in new forms. They’re not accepted as they are, and play pretend to merely exist.
