Optiman Group Branding & Website

An oldie but goodie. One of my very first clients when I started my freelance venture! I grew, and he grew along with me :)

Optiman Group is a fashion forward eyeglass distributor based in Montreal. The owner Eric wanted a funky logo that reflected the personality of his clientele and his European products. I took advantage of the brand's name to play around with typography, and created a simple branding identity that speaks volumes. If you look really closely, you can see that the main logo image is made up from Optiman Group’s initials (OG).

In terms of the website, the client needed an online catalog of all the frames that he distributes throughout Canada the USA. He currently has around 5 major brands he distributes for, including Bench, Bench Kids, Xenith Eyewear, Czone and Vinyl Factory. We decided to use a Woocommerce enabled WordPress platform and disable the shop features, making it a ‘catalog-only’ mode.
Given that the site needed to be in both English & French, we utilized WPML throughout the website, and translated every single category, product, attribute and string.

We had to input over 500 products into this catalog website, which was not a simple task! We used the robust Woothemes Product CSV Import Suite to help us with this daunting task. It wasn’t easy using that however, and I had to obtain the expertise of my mechanical engineer boyfriend for some complicated excel formulas to allow us to automate the import easily.
