Problem

Our goal as product designers is to find solutions that encourage people to reconnect with nature and rediscover the benefits it has to offer. This includes not just traditional activities like hiking and camping, but also new and innovative ways of engaging with the forest environment. By exploring the multitude of activities that can be enjoyed in the forest, we aim to rekindle people's interest in this natural setting and provide them with new and exciting experiences.

Design Process

In our design process as product designers, user engagement was a key factor. We had the opportunity to directly interact with our users and gather valuable insights into their needs and preferences. Through this interaction, we learned that some users were seeking new experiences and sensations, while others simply wanted to evoke emotional responses. Based on these insights, we were able to adapt our offerings and continuously develop a range of services that cater to these needs, including tree climbing and torch-lit night walks. Our approach closely followed the principles of Lean Startup, where we focused on building a minimum viable product, measuring its impact, and learning from user feedback. This iterative process allowed us to deliver a product that truly meets the needs of our users.

The design process for ToTheWoods involved conducting research and analysis, creating sketches and wireframes, and receiving user feedback. The team utilized a variety of tools and methods, including design thinking, to ensure that the final solution meets the needs of the target audience. Throughout the process, the team encountered various challenges, but were able to overcome them through collaboration and creative problem-solving.

Learnings

The ToTheWoods project has provided valuable lessons for the team in terms of technology, design, and project management.
