Mobile-first website for problem solvers

This was a simple and fun project to work on which went through a series of iterations!

The partner wanted a clean design. This was a redesign project so my first step was to understand the WHY.

Step 1: Why redesign the website?

While understanding this, I became familiar with the content on the existing website and salvaged as much as I could before reconstruction began.

Here, the partner wanted to showcase all the projects they had worked and bring the spotlight on their own-built application which was missing in the previous design.

Step 2: Focus. Simplify. Organize.

The site concept went through a lot of brainstorming and to be absolutely honest, the end result is nowhere where we started.

I focused on keeping the design simple, create focus on the portfolio projects and the application by using a color block background and keeping the rest of the design in black & white and using color in clickable elements like buttons.

Step 3: Visual Structure Through Wireframing

I involved my client from the very start. We worked together on creating a clear goal for homepage. and through short texts across, convey the psychology and character of my client's company too. I prototyped often and kept taking regular feedbacks on page structures, architecture of the website which was pretty simple, how the information collection form should be and so on. Taking timely feedback saved me a lot of hassle.

Step 4: Finishing Strong

We experimented a lot with typography and finally set on a clean Sans font. The portfolio positions were also tried and tested as just images and project name, some with introduction but finally we set on image of the project, title, duration and scope. This would give the reader a fair idea and enough to create curiosity to read further.

On the about team page, we played with a little concept. How lens helps you focus on your subject, The WHY team members help you focus on your idea and bring it to life. Hence the use of 'camera' icons with images of the team members.
