7th Ave Social Media App Design
An inside look into one of our most inspiring project to date - 7th Ave.
7th Ave was founded during a time of unprecedented change that included Covid-19, social distancing, and a rising tide of social justice movements across the US.
This era of social distancing has had an impact on consumer needs and behavior. People have been crying out for community and belonging.
Among other things, this led to the rise of audio features within social media. Audio creates real time presence and connection in way that can’t be recreated by other engagement modes. This has opened up a whole new world of access and human interactions.
The founders of 7th Ave saw this trend, but also took note of the trend within the trend.
If you pull back the hood, you’ll find that the people driving the explosive growth of Real time Audio and other new technologies are communities of color.
7th Ave saw this and took it upon themselves to launch an app that would serve as a hub for the global Black experience.
They were tired of communities of color feeling like a mere convenience or afterthought when it comes to our experience, knowledge, and need for belonging. The vision is to carve out our spaces online, just like we have in the physical world.
They are a community platform making it easy for creators to make money, centralize their content, and build community.
They believe in creating a creator middle class by becoming the essential infrastructure to economically empower folks to turn being themselves into a business.
The team came to us after Raising $2.5M in funding led by a team of all stars that included Twitter Ventures, MAC Ventures, and Charlamagne Tha God.
They tapped us to rebrand the identity of the company, redesign the app, and support their go-to-market strategy.
